Steel Rule: It is used to measure and mark dimensions.
Scriber: It is used to mark or scribe lines on the metal workpiece.
Try Square: It is used for marking and checking right angles.
Spring divider: It is used to mark circles or arcs on the metal workpiece.
Odd leg caliper: used to scribe a line a set distance from the edge of workpiece.
Inside Caliper: It is used to measure dimensions such as diameter of a hole, width of a slot etc.
Outside Caliper: It is used to measure outside dimensions such as diameter of a rod, thickness of a plate etc.
Centre Punch: It is used to mark a centre for a hole to be drilled.
Dot Punch: It is used to make punch marks along a line on the metal piece.
Pencil: The pencil makes two specific types of lines: orientation marks (E.g. face side and face edge) and cutting guidelines.
Marking Knife: It is used together with a Try Square to make cut lines across the grain.
Marking Gauge: It is used for marking lines parallel to the edges of a wooden piece
Try Square: This is used to test that one surface is square (90 degrees) to another, and for marking out lines square to the face-side or face-edge..
Mitre Square: It is used for marking and checking an angle of 45 degrees
Sliding level: It is used for marking and checking any angle from 0 to 180 degrees.
Pencil Compass: It is used to mark circles or arcs on the wood/plastic workpiece.
Template: It is used to mark out workpieces of the same shapes and size quickly and accurately.
Hacksaw: A saw used to make straight cuts in metal
Cold chisels are used for cutting heavy metal that cannot be sawed with a hacksaw or cut with shears.
The more common types of cold chisels used in metalwork: the flat, crosscut or cape, round-nose or half-round, and diamond-pointed chisels. Chisels can be sharpened by grinding.
The flat chisel is most widely used and has a place in every workshop or tool kit.

Files: File is a hand tool used to smoothen or fit metal parts. It is made of high carbon steel. Its teeth remove fine chips of material on the forward stroke of the file.
File card: A File card is a brush with metal bristles, used to clean the cutting grooves in a file
